Kit for a KNX-compatible leakage sensor.
A frequency signal (10 kHz by default) is used to detect whether the measuring pins are submerged in water. For safety, the KNX component is galvanically isolated from the rest of the system.
Additionally, a test mode is integrated which checks the signal generation as well as the signal recognition to ensure that even after a longer period of time the sending and receiving of the signal continues to work and that a possible malfunction is not only noticed in the "emergency case".
With the optional housing, the downward-protruding measuring pins are located approximately 1 mm above the base. While the housing could certainly be made watertight with some effort (e.g., silicone), this isn't really necessary: tests have shown that even after being submerged in water, the sensor is still able to transmit the alarm message on the bus and can be reused after thorough drying.
Alternatively, a cable can be connected to the measurement input (the pins of which may need to be shortened) and the leakage sensor itself placed remotely at a safe distance. A suitable cable with a manually crimped connector (hence the slightly higher price) can be ordered as an option, but you can also simply solder any cable directly to the measurement pins yourself.
If, in addition to the bus alarm, an acoustic alarm is also required, a buzzer can be installed.
